Bio

Lots of people will tell you that the book is dead. This blog is my attempt to prove that the book is not dead, but back and with an attitude. I love all things bookish and word-nerdy, whether print or those fascinating new digital behemoths.

I’ve been in love with words and writing for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I adored books, writing, and drawing in the margins with smelly felts. At the moment I have two books on the go, and enjoy the writer’s life of banging on the keyboard until madness and/or a story bears some form of cohesion.

I grew up in Ladysmith, BC, on Vancouver Island, and graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies, Political Science, and Creative Writing. Currently I am completing a Masters of Publishing degree at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. Since the age of six, I have been a Type One Diabetic. Over the years, I’ve experienced first-hand what a literal and metaphorical pain in the ass the disease can be, complete with sugar withdrawal, being stabbed with sharp objects, and living with the wild freak fest that is chronic illness.
